When to keep?  What to throw out?  What to repair?  These are questions library staff are faced with on a daily basis.  The goal of this workshop is to increase your comfort level about weeding and developing your library collection.

Libraries have as a major goal to select, organize, maintain, and make available a quality collection of significant, reliable, and relevant materials in a broad subject range.  We will look at the importance of having both recreational and information materials of diverse viewpoints and the need to purchase less popular as well as more popular items.

This program will offer practical tips and tricks to a successful weeding, selection and development program while working within budget constraints and the spatial limitations of your library.
