Workshop Description:

The Extremely Basic Reference Workshop has been designed for you as a front line support staff member. You will have the opportunity to examine many different print reference resources and discover how to effectively utilize them to help the library patron.

The reference interview process will be included in this workshop along with role playing scenarios and a reference treasure hunt.

Sources covered include: dictionaries, encyclopedias, handbooks, almanacs, yearbooks, directories, geographical sources, biographical sources, basic indexes and abstracts.

Libraries will need to have resources that are on the training list available at the workshop site in order to book this workshop.
