COURSE DESCRIPTION

Designed to help librarians make effective presentations to governing boards, conferences, and community groups, this tutorial walks the novice through choosing the best slide designs, layouts, and color schemes; selecting effective slide transitions and animations; inserting images, clip art, and charts; and perfecting presentation skills. During the course, the participant will design a simple PowerPoint tour of their library and its services and programs.


COURSE OBJECTIVES

After this tutorial, you will be able to:
  • Design presentations for governing boards, conferences, or community groups
  • Choose the best slide designs, layouts, and color schemes
  • Select effective slide transitions and animations
  • Customize PowerPoint slides and templates to meet your needs
  • Insert slides and clip art from other presentations
  • Design slides using images
  • Create organization chartsPerfect your presentation skills

    COURSE STRUCTURE

    The course addresses these issues and more in a web-based course designed to take about 1 1/2 hours to complete. It contains multimedia elements, external links, pre- and post-tests, and course evaluation modules.
