COURSE DESCRIPTION

Etiquette is not rocket science. It's much more important.

The focus of this course is on Corporate Etiquette...the Rules of Engagement in the Library! It embraces a "Fake It 'Til You Make It" approach. In its simplest form, faking it means pretending to have a behavior or skill until the desired behavior becomes a habit. It is practice, pure and simple.

COURSE OBJECTIVES

After completing this course, you will be able to:

  • Understand the evolution of etiquette
  • Determine the appropriate dress for the workplace that will be professional and bring you credibility
  • Make yourself relax and stay focused on your job at hand
  • Utilize the basic communication "tools" correctly and effectively
  • Utilize correct etiquette when attending business social events
  • Handle cleanliness issues in the break room
  • Utilize electronic devices while still considering etiquette practices
  • Deal with different cultural, ethnic or physical perspective of your patrons

COURSE STRUCTURE

The course addresses these issues and more in a web-based course designed to take about 1 1/2 hours to complete. It contains multimedia elements, external links, pre- and post-tests, and course evaluation modules.
