The Kansas City Public Library is seeking an innovative,
experienced and highly motivated professional to serve as the Director of
Development. This position,
which reports to the Chief Executive of the Library, is responsible for
coordinating, supervising, and evaluating fundraising and development
strategies, programs, and record keeping. Responsibilities include
developing strategies for fundraising and development activities;
providing strategic leadership in soliciting and cultivating the Library’s
donor base; organizing and implementing fundraising activities; building
and developing annual fund and planned giving programs; preparing and
monitoring grants; and mobilizing and training volunteers to
fundraise.

|
Minimum
|
Minimum qualifications include a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and considerable experience in fundraising and major gift solicitation, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Must be a strategic thinker with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills; have the ability to work both independently and as part of the executive management team; possess proven skills in goal identification and achievement, strategic planning and organization of multiple projects; and have a strong commitment to the mission of the Kansas City Public Library. |
