Kansas City Metropolitan Community’s

next United We Read begins today

 

In March, a committee of local librarians, educators, readers, book discussion group members, and a representative from a bookstore met to discuss and choose—from a list of nineteen book titles—one book to encourage metro-area residents to read and dicuss this fall. The book title was announced today in a press conference at the Lyric Theatre. The Year the Colored Sisters Came to Town by Jacqueline Guidry, of Kansas City, Missouri, is the 2003 United We Read program selection.
