The Year the Colored Sisters Came to Town

By Jacqueline Guidry

Lesson 8

Vivien Leigh is the first person narrator of this novel.  The goal of this assignment is two-fold:  first, to determine how this 9 almost 10-year-old’s point of view influences the way the novel is told and what readers therefore learn, and second, to keep track of some of her Vivienisms or more adult-like insights.
