The Year the Colored Sisters Came to Town

By Jacqueline Guidry

Lesson 6

It is not difficult to figure out that the main theme of this novel is the changes that take place during the YEAR that the two black nuns came to worship and teach at Holy Rosary.  This change is first introduced through Deacy’s pregnancy.  Keep track of the changes that take place and how these contribute to the conflict and theme in the novel.
