Description:
Imagine working at a place where you need to be conscious about your attire for fear of being ogled at, commented upon or imagine working with a bunch of people who make you feel uncomfortable with their lewd talks or inappropriate behavior. A healthy work environment is one people enjoy and feel comfortable coming to. As employees you must assert your rights of working in a safe, healthy environment where your personal space is respected. For this to happen, you must know how to identify conduct that can be construed as harassment and have no hesitation to come forward with complaints, if you or your colleagues are subjected to harassment. Though each situation of unlawful harassment that you encounter at the workplace warrants a different handling, this course will help you gain a foothold in understanding various aspects of harassment and your responsibilities towards ensuring a harassment-free workplace.

Objectives:
  • In this course, you will learn about the impact of unlawful harassment in the workplace, the meaning of harassment, the kinds of conduct that could create a harassing environment and unlawful retaliation. You will also learn about other kinds of harassing and discriminatory behavior. You will a anti-harassment policy, the process for reporting harassment complaints, and expectations that you support the organizations commitment to providing a workplace free from unlawful harassment. In addition, you will examine confidentiality, and some of the resources and remedies for victims of harassment. Finally, you will look at sustaining relationships based on mutual respect and using communication skills as some of the ways to help eliminate offensive conditions at work.
