MALA/KCMLIN Announces Winner of Amazon Kindle!!
During fiscal year 2010-2011, MALA/KCMLIN had a
contest for all new and renewing individual members.
Everyone who signed up or renewed their individual membership went into
a drawing for an Amazon Kindle. The Winner Is: JULIA DRAPER
from Kansas City Kansas Public Library. Congratulations Julia -

MALA/KCMLIN receives LSTA Statewide Grant for Show Me The World
Get Connected Courier Delivery Service
The Mid-America Library Alliance/Kansas City Metropolitan Library & Information Network has received a Statewide LSTA Grant for the
Show Me the World Get Connected Courier Delivery service for FY 2011-2012. This grant will again allow for all state funded Missouri Public Libraries to receive two day per week courier delivery service. This service connects to libraries in Missouri, Kansas and Colorado.
The Get Connected Show Me The World Courier Delivery service is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.

Colorado State University, Poudre River Public Library District and Front Range
Community College completed an extensive study on "eBooks and eReaders in Public
and Academic Libraries" in April 2011. This is a very comprehensive report
